Can I get a sample of your work?
Absolutely. Call us today at 336-707-0738 or send an email to info@duettemedia.com. We will be glad to review our demo reel with you in person or to send one via mail for you to view at your convenience - all at no cost or obligation to you. Our demo reel contains an edited highlight clip along with full-length samples of all of our products and services.
Can I view a sample of your work online?
Yes. We've recently posted a brief sample of our work here.
What do you mean by "no pre-set time limits" ?
Many videographers put a limit on the amount of time they will be at your wedding. Some put limits on the whole day ("six hours total coverage"); others put limits on time at specific events ("three hours at the reception"). This becomes an issue when your hours are up but you haven't even gotten to the bouquet toss yet. Now, half-way through your reception, you're forced to negotiate for extra time, usually at a premium price. All of a sudden, the happiest day of your life needs to be over in the next 60 minutes if you want to remember it.
We don't believe in talking money on your wedding day, and consider this practice to be holding the client hostage. Instead, we come to a mutually respectful agreement with our clients: we will cover their wedding or reception through the formal departure and trust that our clients will respect our time and not abuse the policy.
If you are planning on returning after the formal departure, extra hours of coverage can be negotiated for a fee, but we prefer to do this well in advance of the wedding day.
Do you use three-chip cameras?
Yes. Our digital cameras feature three-chip technology that captures excellent color, even in low light.
What format is my video delivered in?
We prefer to deliver our videos on DVD. DVD provides audio and video quality that is far superior to consumer tape formats like VHS. It also makes viewing the video more enjoyable, due to the ability to set chapter markers which enable you to jump right to your favorite scenes. In our opinion, delivery on DVD is not an add-on, but a necessity. All of our DVDs are produced with high-quality menu graphics and animation. VHS dubs may be substituted for DVD at no extra charge.
How will you capture sound at my wedding?
We use a combination of sound capturing approaches, utilizing a feed from the PA system (if available) along with a wireless microphone on the groom. For reception coverage, we use camera-mounted directional microphones to capture ambient sound and comments from guests and participants.
How many copies will I receive of my wedding?
All of our wedding packages, including basic, ceremony only coverage, include three copies of the finished program on DVD. Additional copies are available for a charge.
Do you have any packages that feature simple one camera coverage?
Unfortunately, no. We believe that one of the biggest parts of creating a compelling story from your wedding lies in the editing. One camera coverage simply does not offer the same amount of flexibility in finishing as a wedding shot with multiple cameras. We prefer to use three cameras for the ceremony and two cameras for pre-ceremony and post-ceremony coverage.
Am I paying extra for the extra cameras?
Not really. It is fairly common among wedding videographers to charge extra for more cameras: simple, low-end packages are one camera and high-end packages feature two or three. However, we believe that multiple angles are so crucial to creating a top-notch video that we include three cameras on all of our ceremony shoots. Our three camera shoots are a great value compared to some other videographers’ one and two camera shoots.
Will you attend my rehearsal?
Definitely. We believe that attending your rehearsal is absolutely essential to a successful end product. We do, however, use our time wisely, making necessary preparations for the following day. We spend the evening analyzing optimum camera placement and ensuring proper lighting and audio. Often you will see us shifting cameras and testing equipment as your rehearsal is going on. This makes it difficult to do a full production of your rehearsal (as with your wedding), but our cameras are usually running and we would be more than happy to edit some of the footage into a short wrap-up package to go along with your ceremony, should you choose a package that includes pre-ceremony coverage.
Be wary of any videographer who wants to charge you to attend your rehearsal or to visit your venue well in advance of the wedding. Chances are they do not appreciate that your wedding is unique, and not a one-size-fits-all occasion.
How many people will be taping on my wedding day?
We use two camera operators at all times the day of the wedding. One camera during the ceremony is unmanned, usually at the back of the room; the second catches a variety of shots from the back of the room, while the third does the same from the front. We believe that the faces of the bride and groom are critical to capturing the emotion of your story. Both operators work independently to capture pre-service and post-service proceedings, meaning a greater variety of content in the end product. A great benefit to utilizing a husband and wife team is our ability to keep the men comfortable around a male operator and the ladies comfortable around a female operator during the preparation time leading up to the ceremony.
What areas do you primarily serve?
As we are based in Greensboro, our primary areas of service are the North Carolina Piedmont Triad Region, including Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High-Point and the surrounding areas. We are, however, willing to accomodate clients outside of this region (see below).
How far will you travel to be at my wedding?
To keep pricing fair for our local clients, we will travel up to 75 miles from Greensboro free of charge. We will gladly accommodate clients beyond this range, but we do require reimbursement of reasonable expenses above and beyond what we typically incur in taping a wedding. The amount of these expenses will be worked out well in advance and agreed upon before a deposit is made. Please contact us for a custom quote if this happens to be your unique situation.
